September Superstars No.1 2026

Emilee savage-brookes

Our first September Superstar is Emilee Savage-Brookes.

Emilee was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in January 2026. Since receiving the devastating news, her journey has brought many more challenges, including a diagnosis of OMAS (Opsoclonus Myoclonus Ataxia Syndrome), a rare neurological condition linked to her neuroblastoma tumour...

Emilee is receiving treatment for OMAS alongside her cancer treatment. She has also undergone a major 10-hour operation and started chemotherapy, an enormous amount for anyone to face, especially a child.

Throughout everything, Emilee has shown incredible bravery and courage. Despite the challenges she has faced, she continues to take each day as it comes and show just how strong she can be.

"Emilee has been extremely brave and courageous throughout this time and collecting and making her beads of courage really helps her feel one step closer to getting better, and helps her understand how far she has come."

Her beads are a tangible reminder of the battles she has faced, the treatments she has endured and, most importantly, her strength and resilience. Every new bead brings Emilee one step closer to the day she hopes to be better.

Emilee and her family love everything that Beads of Courage represents. The programme brings moments of happiness, pride and smiles to children who are going through incredibly challenging times.

"We love the beads of courage everything it represents bringing smiles to many children going through challenging times."
