Our member of the month this month is Maiya Coleman.

Maiya was diagnosed with spina bifida and hydrocephalus during the 20th week of her mum Gemma’s pregnancy. From that moment, the rest of the pregnancy became a whirlwind of hospital appointments, with Gemma travelling back and forth between hospitals, often several hours from home. Eventually, it was decided that Maiya would be born at Leeds, where she could receive the specialist care she needed. The plan was for her to undergo surgery just one day after she was born...

Our Member of the Month this month is Franki Olney.

Franki’s journey began in December 2025, when her family noticed she was not quite herself. At first, it seemed as though she was recovering from a virus, but her symptoms quickly became more concerning. She stopped speaking clearly and began sounding much younger, almost baby-like, making it difficult for others to understand her. She was frequently sick, struggled to walk, became extremely sleepy, and experienced sudden intense emotions that were completely out of character. As time went on, she also began suffering from headaches. Due to persistent vomiting and a loss of appetite, she lost a significant amount of weight...

Our Member of the Month this month is Jenson Coupland.

In September, Jenson became unwell with severe headaches, vomiting, and sensitivity to light. He was admitted to hospital, where he was treated for meningitis without undergoing a lumbar puncture. After three days, he was discharged when his blood tests returned normal results.
