Our Member of the Month this month is Grace Wilson.
“We as her family are extremely proud of her. Her infectious smile keeps everyone on the wards spirits up and helps us get through this difficult time”
In early July of this year, at just 10 months old, Grace was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Since then, her treatment journey has been intense and challenging. She has undergone multiple rounds of chemotherapy, bone marrow aspirates, and lumbar punctures, and recently began immunotherapy. Despite the rigorous treatment plan, Grace is responding remarkably well, and her family is incredibly proud of her strength and resilience.
Through it all, Grace’s bright and infectious smile has been a source of comfort and encouragement. Her positive spirit lifts the mood of everyone on the ward, including her family, making this difficult time a little easier to bear. Her courage and determination are truly inspiring to all who meet her.
"The beads of courage are an amazing tool for us to use as a reminder as to what Grace is going through, a coping mechanism and an easy way to show family members the extent of Grace’s treatment. They will be used when Grace is older to explain to her just how strong she is and what she has been through."
As Grace grows older, these beads will become a powerful reminder of her incredible strength. They will help her understand just how much she has endured and overcome, reminding her of the resilience she showed through such a difficult time in her life.
